Champion’s Day is a much anticipated, school-wide sports event to promote health, fitness and school spirit at Brewer Island Elementary. This is also our time to showcase our wonderful PE/PMT staff and acknowledge the importance of the PE/PMT program at the school. Students will take part in 5 Olympic inspired events ranging from relay races, Taekwondo, an obstacle course, and hockey just to name a few. All children attending school on Friday, September 12th will participate in this event in lieu of PE/PMT. We welcome parents and family members to come to school and watch the Parade of Champions which will take place from 8:30 am to 9:00 am, kicking off a day of fun. Siblings are welcome to attend the Parade of Champions, but not during the games portion of the event, which begin at 9:15am. The games schedule will be posted at the classrooms a week prior to event day.
If you are interested in volunteering on Champions Day or support pre-event activities, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Also look out for the volunteer sign-up link coming soon. Please remember that all volunteers must “check-in" at their child’s classroom or at the office.
We look forward to seeing all our Brewer Island families cheering on the students on Champion’s Day!!
Each year the Brewer Island PTA strives to increase parent memberships in order to show support for our PTA. Considering that we have close to 700 students, it would be great if we could increase PTA membership to about 600 members this year (a lofty goal but not impossible). Remember, parent involvement only enhances and strengthens the programs offered to their children!! Membership is only $8 per person for the school year.
The classroom contest will take place September 8th thru September 26th – the class that gets the MOST number of memberships (in each grade level) will win an ice-cream party!!
To join visit the school website: www.brewerisland.smfc.k12.ca.us/ and follow instructions on the “join the PTA” section of the home page. Questions? Contact Dianne Patel (email@example.com).
